The film Duga, les charognards, by Abdoulaye Dao and Hervé Eric Lengani | Do our laws take precedence over our convictions?

Through this Burkinabe film from 2018, which is about 92 minutes long, the authors show us the shortcomings of our laws, customs and religions in the face of unique life events (birth and death). Rejected by his village, the hospital, the church and the mosque, the body of the deceased Pierre will be transported across Burkina before finding a final resting place with the help of the « Duga ». Unemployment, corruption and selfishness are also addressed in this moving film in which no scene seems to be too much. A bridge between reality and fiction, this film is strongly supported by actors with sincere acting, but only Abdoulaye Komboudri will be awarded twice for the role of Gouda.
Duga, les charognards is distributed by Sudu Connexion and made available on mycanal. In 2019, 4 prizes were awarded to the film: Special Jury Prize at the second festival of cultural identities in Ouagadougou, Audience Prize for the best feature film at the festival Cinémas d’Afrique in ANGERS (France), Signis Prize and UEMOA Prize at FESPACO.
Duga and the film The Burial of Kojo by Blitz Bazawule are proof that the motif of a death opens the door to a plethora of stories.
